the "digitized by Microsoft" watermark apparently on all U Toronto books now is irritating, ugly, a defacement, like a dog who has to leave its mark everywhere. Scanning these books is a fine thing but does not confer rights of ownership. Open source does not mean supported by advertising.

Without realizing it.....your right! The MS watermark does NOT confer rights of ownership.

The watermark does not confer ownership, the ability to add one implies it. Unlike the single bookplate or the few stamps etc. of the U of T, to place one on every page is a defacement.

guys,I think I found a method to remove this God Damn watermark !

It's a walk around .

In the PDF ,when you find "digitized by MS "then all we can do is to insert our own image in the footer .
The image to be inserted should be a white black image of any size .

Acrobat allows this process ,more over you can adjust the location of the image you insert to make it completely above the ms watermark .

You insert the image in the footer as a water mark ;)

if you have any djvu ,then convert it to pdf then repeat the procedure .

Peace of cake
